Legislation Extends Roth 401(k) Feature
August 4, 2006
The Pension Protection Act of 2006, expected to be signed into law by President Bush shortly, permanently extends the pension provisions of the 2001 EGTRRA law. This means that the Roth 401(k) feature is now available indefinitely and no longer set to expire after 2010.
In the coming months, we'll publish a series of articles that discuss how this extension impacts one's decision relative to choosing the Roth vs. the traditional pre-tax option.
